Coastal Radar Surveillance System
In December of 2009 Satcom Scientific delivered three Coastal Radar Surveillance Systems (CRSS) to a customer in North Africa. These vehicles are truck mounted mobile radar stations that are also equipped with high a quality video camera and remote controlled spotlight mounted on a 20-foot pneumatic mast. The CRSS units have the capability to transmit radar target information, real time video images and voice communications via satellite, cellular telephone or HF radio. Each vehicle accommodates two engineers for an extended deployment and includes living quarters, limited food preparation equipment and shower with sanitary facilities. Each vehicle is equipped with an electrical generating system and a UPS protected electrical subsystem.
